This tour introduces guests to the local food culture of Suwon, and the UNESCO cultural heritage site, Suwon Hwaseong (Suwon Fortress). Suwon City was built during the Joseon Dynasty’s greatest period, known as the ‘Jungjo’ era, and has a rich history and backstory, including that of King Jongjo and his mother.
Throughout the tour, not only the story of royal food which contains the origin of the 60th birthday party of Hyekyunggung Hong’s 60th birthday party called 'Jin Chan-yeon', 'Wang Galbi', Suwon food specialty, and the story of the heartbreaking 'Sadoseja’ will be covered but as well the 'cauldron whole chicken' story in Whole Chicken Alley. You can taste and hear the stories of food and history related to the famous Jidong Market and Suwon Hwaseong Fortress.
